Mexico City, February 25, 2020. Grupo Bimbo is once again recognized as one of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” and is also the only Mexican company in receiving this distinction for the fourth consecutive year.

List is drafted by The Ethisphere Institute, which, for more than a decade recognizes the leadership of companies maintaining high regulatory standards and have ethics as an essential value in all is operations.

Daniel Servitje, Chairman and CEO of Grupo Bimbo stated,“ We feel highly honored receiving this distinction for the fourth consecutive year. Without doubt it is an important recognition to our integrity program and to the commitment of our over 136,000 associates in the 33 countries where we have operations.”

He added, “This year we celebrate 75 years of history and, from the very beginning, integrity has been part of our philosophy and of all the decisions we make.”

On his part, Timothy Erblich, CEO of The Ethisphere Institute added, “Congratulations to everyone at Grupo Bimbo for earning this recognition. This is a moment to acknowledge the leaders working to advance corporate cultures defined by integrity and affirm those companies contributing to broader societal imperatives and the greater good.”

The 2020 list is made up by 130 companies from 21 countries and 51 industries. The methodology used by The Ethisphere Institute to choose the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” considers a set of variables that allow for the calculation of the Ethics Quotient®. Through it, the scores are weighted for five axes: Ethics and Compliance Program (35%), Corporate Citizenship and Responsibility (20%), Culture of Ethics (20%), Governance (15%), as well as Leadership and Reputation (10%). The process includes over 200 questions about culture, environmental and social practices, ethics and compliance activities, governance, diversity, and initiatives to support a strong value chain.

Noteworthy is that in this year’s evaluation Ethisphere did a deeper analysis of integrity programs for business partners and other third parties at risk, and also on the use and implementation of technological platforms and developments within companies’ integrity programs.

Since its foundation, almost 75 years ago, Grupo Bimbo works day after day in reaching its purpose of building a sustainable, highly productive and deeply humane company, having ethics as its most important value and the basis of all its actions.
