Grupo Bimbo Reiterates Its Commitment To Paris Agreement To Fight Climate Change

Caring for the environment is part of the Company’s philosophy. Today, more than ever, all members of society must assume this commitment and join efforts. Grupo Bimbo reiterates its commitment from 2015 by signing the Paris Pledge for Action to combat climate change, and will continue working to leave a better planet to future generations

Mexico City, June 2, 2017.- Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican multinational company, reiterates commitment to the Paris Agreement to fight climate change, signed in 2015 to reduce emissions pollution and reduce global warming.

As part of our commitment to environmental sustainability, Grupo Bimbo adopts best practices to help mitigate any negative impact to the environment including reducing our carbon and water footprints and implementing comprehensive waste management.

Grupo Bimbo is also a signatory on the 2014 United Nations Forest Statement, endorsing its global timetable to reduce deforestation to half by 2020 and striving to eliminate it by 2030. Additionally, the company has demonstrated best practices in water saving, waste management and efficient use of energy through Ecological Sales Centers, which operate with renewable energy supplied from the Piedra Larga Wind Farm in Mexico and developing a fleet of electric vehicles.
