REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE

This tillage method protects soil health, captures carbon, and builds resilient ecosystems. We pledge that by 2050 100% of our key ingredients will come from land cultivated with regenerative farming practices.

Farmer empowerment

We seek to offer tools and knowledge to producers to take care of nature and promote a resilient food system. By 2030, we guarantee that 200,000 hectares of wheat will be grown under this sustainable method.

Our progress

We are supported by CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center) to encourage farmers to adopt regenerative agriculture practices.

  • In Jalisco, during the corn cycle of spring/summer 2021, more than 7,000 tons were collected on an area of 900 hectares where 41 farmers participated.
  • For the 2021-2022 autumn/winter corn cycle in Sinaloa, there are 2,100 hectares and a volume of at least 20,000 tons is expected to be produced under this regenerative practice.

In 2021, we started a sesame project in Sinaloa guaranteeing the purchase for consumption by our company in Mexico.

As for the rotation of wheat crops, in 2021 we started in Sinaloa a sesame project planted with the same practices, guaranteeing the purchase for consumption of the company in Mexico.

2023 Achievements

In June 2023 we began to search, identify, and evaluate potential partners in Regenerative Agriculture in Central and South America. In July we extended our program to more producers located in the United States and Canada.
