ZERO NET CARBON EMISSIONS
We are building our future through the decisions we make today. Therefore, we will reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions as much as possible and implement renewable energy use and carbon capture. Our commitment is to optimize mechanisms for carbon reduction, renewable energy, and carbon sequestration.
In 2018 we joined the RE100 initiative, pledging that all our operations will use renewable electricity by 2025. We currently have an 85% advance.
We use energy effectively to reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. In our bakeries and other plants, we have decreased 4% the thermal energy per ton produced compared to 2019.
During 2023, we added 1,262 electric vehicles to our fleet, which will help us reduce the emission of 16,084 tons of CO2 in our logistics operations.
With a total of 2,693 electric vehicles, we are the company with the largest green fleet/ transport in Latin America.
For the second consecutive year, we obtained an “A” rating in CDP's The A List 2023 ranking, we were recognized as a Leader in Supplier Engagement with a +80% response rate on climate change related issues.
