Within the framework of the forum “Towards the Economy’s De-Carbonization”, done by the specialized magazine Las Empresas Verdes (The Green Companies), the panel “Transition towards Electromobility” was conducted, and in it participated Jesus Maria Aguilar, CEO of Moldex, a Grupo Bimbo affiliate responsible for producing the company’s electric fleet.
During the conversation, Jesus Maria commented that nowadays, Grupo Bimbo has Mexico’s biggest electric vehicle fleet and one of the largest in Latin America. The CEO shared that, nowadays, there are 1,300 units distributed in different points around the country.
"These electric delivery vehicles have a sustainable operation model, and are developed and manufactured by Mexican engineers”, said Jesús María Aguilar
During the event, he also mentioned some of the characteristics of these electric vehicles, such as their battery, which offers a performance of between 60 and 95 KM: “In the morning, they exit the Sales Center to distribute the products and, at the end of the day, they go back to the same center to recharge their batteries, using solar or wind energy, achieving a completely clean cycle”,Jesus Maria told the audiences of the magazine Las Empresas Verdes that Moldex not only develops electric vehicles for Grupo Bimbo, but that also, for a few years, has manufactured them for other companies, which without a doubt adds to the future of electromobility in the country.
