This is why we are constantly working to improve our Safety and Wellness Model. It has the following objectives:

  • Reverse the incident rate trend
  • Achieve zero injuries and near misses
  • Consolidate a culture of safety and self-care on a daily basis.
  • Self-manage a healthy lifestyle

However,… How do we measure our performance in Safety??

As of 2021 Grupo Bimbo uses the Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) as an indicator to monitor the number of incidents at our work centers.

We keep a detailed record of work-related injuries from which we can obtain the TRIR, Frequency and Seriousness indicators by Business Unit.

How? This indicator considers:Injuries that generate disabling days + Injuries that require medical care with no disabling days.

The 200,000 hours in the formula represent the equivalent of 100 associates working 40 hours per week, 50 weeks per year, and provides the standard basis to estimate the incident rate.

We define annual Injuries reduction targets using this new indicator.
