In the framework of the Second Sustainability Forum "Together for a Better Planet", Grupo Bimbo announced significant results of its actions and initiatives aimed at saving water and promoting its efficient use.
As part of the PLANET pillar, the environmental arm of its corporate social responsibility program “Sembrando Juntos”, in recent years Grupo Bimbo adopted technology from Inter Iberica a company with over 25 years of experience in the car wash industry that has a wide sense of environmental responsibility. Inter Iberica will help Grupo Bimbo to start automating the processes of washing of its vehicle fleet to make them more comfortable, fast, simple and friendly to the environment.
The leadingbaking company in the global food industry explained that as part of these actions the firm has acquired 62 "Istobal" washing equipments and more than 187 water recyclers that allow to recovering up to 90% of the liquid used in its facilities.
Mr. Ignacio Montoya, Manager of Technical Studies of Vehicles from Grupo Bimbo said that the measures taken by the company in this area aim to reduce the water footprint of its operations.
"The washing equipments 'Istobal' are complete, efficient and simple. Besides, they are very respectful to the environment, which certainly is a priority for us. By resorting to this type of technology for the maintenance of our vehicles, we will be saving more than 500,000 liters of water, thus reducing the water footprint of our production and distribution processes" he said.
Enrique Ortego, International Sales Manager from Inter Iberica, supplier company of car washing equipments and recyclers, acknowledged Grupo Bimbo’s commitment with the environment, and said that thanks to the 100% automated processes from the "Istobal" brand, the baking company maintains at all times an excellent image of their vehicles.
The Second Sustainability Forum "Together for a Better Planet" brings together for two days leading companies in their respective industries that through various actions and initiatives have shown a strong commitment to the environment.
