Ms. María Eugenia Casar is part of the Board of Sigma, Ethan Allen (member of the Audit Committee), and Save the Children México (member of the Governance and Talent Committee).
Ms. Casar worked for more than 10 years at the United Nations (UN) where she held various positions related to the organization's budget and finances, including CFO of the UN, Representative of the Secretary General to the UN Pension Fund, the Under-Secretary-General of the UN Development Program and Assistant Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, based in Rome.
In Mexico, Ms. Casar has served as the Executive Director of the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AMEXCID), National Treasurer, CFO of Banco del Ahorro Nacional y Servicios Financieros (BANSEFI), and other positions within of the Ministry of Finance and the National Banking Commission (CNBV).
She has a degree in Public Accounting and an MBA, both from ITAM, where she was also Head of School and Professor of Accounting. She is also the author of several publications related to financing for development.
