Marinela México received the National Quality Award 2013
Marinela México, a subsidiary of Grupo Bimbo, won the National Quality Award 2013, the highest distinction to organizational excellence in Mexico, awarded by the President´s Office through the Ministry of Economy. Marinela received this prize in recognition of the highest standards in innovation, quality and performance that allow the firm to deliver products of the highest quality to their customers.
During the award ceremony, the Minister of Economy, Mr. Ildefonso Guajardo Villareal, highlighted the leadership of Marinela México in the market, as well as the excellent level of growth that has led this proudly Mexican company to compete successfully in the most demanding international markets.
Mr. Guajardo recalled that, since its inception in 1989, the National Quality Award has recognized companies that “have been able to design and implement a management model that drives differentiating capabilities difficult to imitate, ensuring competitiveness and sustainability, and for which they become a role model for everyone else”.
The 2013 edition of the National Quality Award featured an evaluation process based on the National Model for Competitiveness, which evaluates how the participating companies seize opportunities and respond to the challenges they face in their environment, as well as their performance results.
The Award Committee identified Marinela México as an organization with the strength to be a role model in the implementation of their competitiveness models and principles.
Upon receiving the award, Mr. Gerardo Achótegui Roquet, COO of Marinela México, highlighted the importance that the subsidiary has to Grupo Bimbo, signaling that their excellent brand recognition stems from the quality of its products and the work philosophy of the firm.
“We felt very proud when Bimbo and Barcel received this award in 2007 and 2011, respectively Today it’s the turn of Marinela México and we are even prouder of the productivity and innovation distinguishing our operations, for these have led us to achieve the maximum recognition that honors the pursuit of excellence: the National Quality Award”, the executive concluded.
