Bimbo summons 100 thousand people to run next september 27

To encourage physical activity, a way to serve society. The first edition of Global Energy Bimbo, an initiative that seeks to promote worldwide an active and healthy lifestyle, will take place on September 27.

As part of its commitment to promote a healthy lifestyle and physical activity, Bimbo will carry out the first edition of Global Energy Bimbo next Sunday September 27, the first race in which the participation is foreseen to be close to 100 thousand runners in 22 cities of 19 different countries, on the same day.

“At Grupo Bimbo we are convinced that the promotion of physical activity is a way to serve our world, this is why we are inviting our associates, their families and society in general to be part of Global Energy Bimbo, a milestone of races worldwide”, said Daniel Servitje, President of the Council and CEO of Grupo Bimbo.

On its first edition, Global Energy Bimbo will take place on the next cities: Asuncion, Beijing, Belo Horizonte, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Guadalajara, Guatemala, Lima, Lisbon, Long Beach, Madrid, Managua, Mexico City, Monterrey, Montevideo, Panama Philadelphia, San Jose, San Salvador, Santiago and Tegucigalpa. The race will count with categories of 5 and 10 kilometers, in which the participants can be from the age of 16 to 70, also there will be a 3 kilometers walk for all ages.

In Mexico’s case, the race will take place on Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City. A participation of nearly 25 thousand runners is foreseen on the three cities. In Mexico City, the runners will come upon different representative monuments and edifications having the avenue Paseo de la Reforma as its main stage. For Guadalajara the startup line will be Andares mall, and the Bridge of Atirantado or, also known as Circuito de la Unidad, for Monterrey.

Worldwide, Global Energy Bimbo will count with the sponsorship of Powerade, Spotify, and also with FOX Sports, for its transmission: “Through this alliance, FOX Sports will contribute to make from this great initiative, an event of global impact and characteristics, spreading the athletic spirit and amplifying its reach to millions of people around the world” said Lorenzo Orozco, SVP General Manager FIC Mexico. Additionally, the race will have different sponsors in each of the cities in which it will take place.

The price for the winners in the different categories in each country will be the direct pass to next year’s edition in the headquarters of its preference, in the participant cities.
