Bimbo launched the campaign “With your purchase, contribute to planting life” ("Con tu compra siembra vida”) on the market, and which is presented in all of its white, whole wheat grain and specialty loaf bread line for a period of 8 weeks.
Mexico is considered one of the ten mega-diverse countries at the world level. Forests and woodlands cover the fourth part of our territory. Unfortunately however, each year 300 thousand hectares are deforested. The loss of these forests makes a negative impact on our life quality, which is the reason that reforestation as well as conservation are of such vital importance.
Through their purchases, consumers shall be contributing for the benefit of the environment, because Bimbo, in turn, shall allocate resources to ‘Reforestamos México A.C.’ (Reforesting Mexico,-Civil Association), the efforts of which are focused on preserving and reforesting our country’s forests and jungles or rainforests. The goal is the reforesting of a total of 1,5 million trees that is equivalent to the surface of 1,500 football fields.
This campaign is now supported by television commercial advertisement and by means of the Bimbo packaging, where a message to promote awareness is broadcast and consumers are invited to be present at the reforestation events that ‘Reforestamos Mexico” conducts at different sites throughout the country.
