Grupo Bimbo inaugurates the first Innovation and Nutrition Institute
Today, operations began at the new Grupo Bimbo Research and Nutrition Institute (‘Instituto de Investigación y Nutrición de Grupo Bimbo’), built on a 10,000 m2 surface within the facilities of the Barcel Plant, Lerma, State of Mexico. The federal State of Mexico as the headquarters of an important part of Grupo Bimbo’s operations, shall house the second one of these Institutes established in our country and the fourth at worldwide level.
Messrs. Daniel Servitje, General Director de Grupo Bimbo, Roberto Servitje, President of the Board of Directors of Grupo Bimbo and Gabino Gomez, General Director of Barcel, welcomed numerous special guests that participated during this significant occasion.
Attorney-at-Law Enrique Peña Nieto, Governor of the State of Mexico, accompanied by the State’s Secretary of Economic Development, Attorney-at-Law Enrique Jacob and Dr. Rene Asomoza, General Director of the CINVESTAV, among other outstanding invited guests who enhanced the setting of the event with their distinguished presence; a commemorative plaque was unveiled at this event.
At the inauguration, Dr. Rene Drucker, General Director of Scientific Information, UNAM (‘Director General de Divulgación de la Ciencia, UNAM’) participated with an outstanding conference under the title of “Situation of Science in Mexico”.
